Monica Givney - HR Consultant - Preston Law

Monica is a dedicated and forward-thinking HR professional with a rich background spanning various industries including Construction, Registered Training Organizations, Not-for-Profit entities, and Aged Care. Her extensive experience encompasses providing HR support at a national level across different states, serving upwards of 900 employees. In addition to her HR expertise, Monica is also a certified Workplace Health & Safety Officer and Mental Health First Aider.

Throughout her career, Monica has consistently demonstrated her ability to manage and support HR functions at varying levels within an organization. Her key areas of expertise include:

  • Providing advice and assistance to managers in the application and interpretation of industrial relations and legislation for employee matters.
  • Conducting workplace investigations followed by performance management processes to ensure fair and effective resolutions.
  • Offering support and coaching to leaders on complex employee misconduct processes to maintain a positive and compliant workplace.
  • Interpreting and applying relevant legislation, Awards, and Host Employer Enterprise Agreements to ensure compliance is met and maintained across all levels.
  • Developing and facilitating training workshops on topics such as Code of Conduct, workplace behaviours, and corporate orientation to address identified training needs.

Monica is currently completing her Bachelor of Laws and aims to leverage her extensive experience in HR management to transition into the field of employment law. Her commitment to professional growth and her proactive approach to human resources make her an invaluable asset to our firm.
