Mary Anderson

Mary graduated from Griffith University in December 2024 with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice. She was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in February 2025 and was later admitted to the High Court of Australia.
Mary brings a thoughtful, empathetic, and practical approach to family law, supported by a strong background in legal and court-based environments involving complex and sensitive matters.
Before commencing practice as a solicitor, Mary gained valuable experience while working in the Domestic and Family Violence Registry, the Coroners Court, and the Office of the Public Guardian. She also completed her Practical Legal Training with the Office of the Public Guardian in the Adult Legal Team, where she assisted on matters involving criminal law, mental health, domestic violence, and child protection.
Following her admission, Mary worked as a caseworker with the Department of Youth Justice and Victim Support. These roles gave her broad exposure to complex legal issues and strengthened her ability to support people during challenging and often highly emotional circumstances.
Mary now practises exclusively in family law. Her professional background has given her a strong understanding of the issues affecting families and children, particularly where matters involve vulnerability, conflict, and intersecting legal concerns. She is committed to assisting clients with sensitivity, tact, and care while working toward practical and effective outcomes.
